The second music video from the electronic/video band Manufacture. "As the End Draws Near" was the second single from the band's first album TERRORVISION on Nettwerk. The music video was directed and edited by band member Brian Bothwell. Lead vocal track was sang by Nettwerk/Arista recording artist Sarah MacLachlan. Former playboy playmate Kelly Gallagher appeared in the video as well as numerous other extras. This is the second music video release for my former band Manufacture. I directed and edited this music video a long long long time ago. I also perform in it. Lead vocals by Sarah MacLachlan.

Manufacture hail from Toronto and made it onto the Nettwerk label where, like some other Canadian industrial bands, they were overshadowed by countrymates Skinny Puppy. Manufacture doesn't sound like Skinny Puppy, though. On another of their albums ("Voice of World Control"), they sound synthpoppy at times, like Depeche Mode. This album is a good example of EBM with a lot of samples and repetition. Plus, it has a beautifully eerie song, "As The End Draws Near", with guest vocals by labelmate Sarah McLachlan, which is very surprising! I wouldn't necessarily endorse this album to fans of hers (unless you're a hardcore fan who must have everything she's done) because musically it differs radically from her own material. Overall, that song, as well as "Passion For The Future", "Armed Forces", and the title track make this album an welcome addition to any industrial fan's collection. All the sets were built by myself and the artist brothers Michael and John Hansen.

The video is packed with useful cliches... sexy women, a lot of militaria and tough guys for a hard masculine sound called "electronic body music" - a label brand given by Front 242. One musician is acting very funny behind his synthesizer, isn't he? B.T.W: The music video was directed and edited by band member Brian Bothwell and he did a really great job in camera and editing, I think. And please watch the set decoration. I shot and edited this video. I built the sets, and we broke into a huge Steel Scrap metal junkyard to shoot many of the scenes. The rubber dress I actually made myself out of a truck tire inner tube! The "Armed Forces" music video actually helped get Manufacture signed to Nettwerk Canada. It remains a classic to me, and to many others that are devotees of the industrial music and Electronic Body Music movement.

I directed and edited this music video for the band Moev up in Vancouver Canada in 1988. I became friends with Moev while I was recording my first album "Terrorvision" for my (electronic EBM music) band Manufacture. The cinematography was done by a very talented German cinematographer named Tobias. Editing was done at my video studio in San Francisco and final post production was completed with Fred Salkind in New York City. Really cool song too!

A very very early music video I edited. The video was directed by my good friend Luis Aira. Here is a fun fact, The "babe" in this early music video went on to become Senator Scott Brown's wife. Thats the Scott Brown that is now the republican senator of Massachusetts. How scandalous! LOL!

Fred found some funny old 1960s dance show footage and I turned it into a bizarre music video. I remember everybody at the video editing studio ( I was working at ) were kinda looking at me funny!
